CONTACT Info

Our Sanctuary residents are equine who because of health, age, disabilities or been returned from adoptive homes remain with us under our care here at the rescue for the rest of their days. These equine will not be available for adoption. We count these equine as pure blessing's, and we feel honored to have them here with us, as we care for their special needs.

Diddley Do Little
diddleyface.jpg

Diddley Do Little .... Is a 14 year old gelding miniature donkey. Spent the first 13 years of his life without another donkey friend in sight. It took him 10 days after arriving here to start to play or interact with any other donkey. Now he has a best friend and loves to clown around. Has the cutest bray also, and is super friendly and always in your pocket checking out if you've brought him a treat. He is helping us in our "education program " as a meek and greeter in our outing in the community.

Winney Mouse (aka Winney the mini)
winneyxmas.jpg

Winney Mouse .... Is our mini princess. She came to us from a neglect situation where she had been attacked by pit bulls and her owner refused to get her vet care. Because of the situation she was re-introduced to dogs very carefully, we did not want her to have a fear for life from her experience. She is a 35 inch small gal about 9 years old, with a HUGE heart. Her beautiful personality won us over and she was so good with visitors to the farm, she became one of our "educational ponies we take out into the community". She has listened to many a child's secret (and never revealed), she has helped heal many broken hearts and hurt bodies.

Roly Poly

ROLY POLY ...... This little man is 34 inches small and about 10 years old. He is one of the "Creekside Team" and helps us in our "educational programs".Roly is super sweet and has been to many schools, hospitals, nursing homes, events and home bound elderly patients. At one such event he had 864 children brush him in just 5 hours, he sure looked "handsome" after all that attention.

Goosebumps (aka Goose the Moose)
gooseupclose.jpg

GOOSEBUMPS ..... Was a stray donkey picked up by the local animal control. An owner never showed up to claim her, and we don't understand WHY? She is a total love bug, loves people other animals and F O O D ...... Goose will eat anything she can get in her mouth (ask my husband to explain that please...). She had an old injury to her right eye, and suffers some loss of sight due to that. She has the largest head we have ever seen on a donkey (hence Goose the Moose). She is a standard size donkey. She is around 15 -20 years old, and lets small people sit on her. She has a really loud bray and is the lead singer in the Creekside Donkey Band. (CD coming out this summer) !!!!!

HALF PINT
badhairdayhalfpint.jpg

HALF PINT .... Is a 10 year old gelding 33 inch small man. He is related to Rod Stewart the singer we think (take a look at that hair)!!! Half Pint survived an awful ordeal early in his life, where he was beaten up by a larger horse and left for dead. His face was smashed and needed intensive surgery to repair and reconstruct. Hence today all you can tell from that is, he has a pretty white smile. But he can set off the metal detectors in any airport with the metal in his face. He is one of our "educational team" and visits out in the community. Half Pint was our first ever mini man, and taught to fall in love with this compact size equine.

apolloleftside.jpg
Apollo 8 year old crippled gelding

<APOLLO .... Is an 11 year old paint gelding of around 14.2 hands tall. He came into the rescue in Aug 03, and has been here ever since. He was available for adoption 6 months after he came here, after putting on weight. In all that time, nobody offered to give Apollo a home, we think because he has such special needs and cannot be ridden.Today 2/7/08 we have decided that Apollo no longer needs to wonder if anyone will ever give him the loving home he has been looking for, we have moved him into our "Sanctuary" section, his home is now here at Creekside for the rest of his life.

Apollo came in with "rickets" in his front legs, he had never received the right kinds of foods as a baby, and thus he has a somewhat "twisted look" in his front legs. His legs have straighten out a lot since being here at Creekside. But he is forever lame and can never be ridden. When he is walking towards you, he always looks like he's about to turn left. He had received a lot of head abuse in his early life, before he came here and is very hard to catch and work with. He usually needs to be sedated to receive vet and farrier care. He is a wonderful boy who just needs some special time spent with him one on one to earn his trust and to help better meet his needs.

Zillion
zillion.jpg

ZILLION ..... Is a 34 inch small gelding miniature donkey. He was adopted out and returned when his owners decided to move to the city. He is best friends with Diddley. Zillion is sweet crazy and a total hoot all rolled into that tiny little body. He loves to go for trailer rides, but refuses to load easy. He will "Sit down" on his back legs and refuse to climb in. With a little help he's on board and on his way. He likes to inspect all that is going on, and he thinks hes one of the big guys and tries to keep up with some of the bigger horses. His little legs going a million miles a minute.

Scrabble Dabble
scrabbleside.jpg

Scrabble Dabble ..... Is around 12 years old and a tiny gelding man at just 28 inches tall. He is slightly deformed with a jug face (no shape) a club hoof and a protruding backbone (stands above his back). All these are from in breeding. He is our hospital visitor and loves to go to visit home bound folks too. He for some reason is also very very popular with school kids (can't figure why)!!

A total love bug, and the stealer of hearts.
